September is fast approaching, and with it, the release of my newest novel, Counting Miracles. In case you missed the announcement on Instagram earlier today, I am thrilled to finally share that there will be a Barnes & Noble Exclusive Edition of Counting Miracles! This special edition includes a note from yours truly about the inspiration for the book, and a little bit about how I find inspiration in many different aspects of my life.

For those of you that loved Dear John, you probably know that the novel was inspired, in part, by my cousin Todd Vance and his deployment overseas after the events of September 11th. The character of Tanner in Counting Miracles is also inspired, in part, by Todd, and the challenges many veterans face when returning home. I hope this story speaks to you. It’s been one of my favorite books to write and my hope is that, like me, readers will fall in love with the possibility of second chances and remember that it’s never too late to find your home.
