The Return is now in paperback + Special Giveaways for The Wish

Today, The Return is available for the first time in paperback everywhere books are sold! This new edition has been updated to include the first chapter of my upcoming novel, The Wish. In case you missed the news earlier this year, the feature film rights for The Return were acquired in April and I hope to be sharing more film news in the months ahead. The story of The Return focuses on an injured army doctor and the two women whose secrets will change the course of his life. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, I hope you will soon and I’d love to hear what you think.

As my travel plans and event details continue to unfold for my upcoming book tour for The Wish, I’m happy to be able to share updates for a few fun giveaways and partner sweepstakes related to the book’s September 28th release.

* I mentioned in my last email update that Goodreads.com has been giving away advance copies of The Wish leading up to the novel's release and, now, there are just two more chances to win advance copies of the book.

* By pre-ordering The Wish at Barnes and Noble, you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win a framed photo print from my 2015 trip to Patagonia, along with a signed set of all 21 of my novels.

* Additionally, my publisher is offering a special sweepstakes through the month of August giving away an Ocracoke Island postcard inspired by The Wish to 500 lucky readers. As a thank you for being a subscriber to my mailing list, you’re the first to hear about it!

Sincerely Yours,

Nicholas Sparks

Book Tour Announcement for The Wish

Last month, I had the pleasure of traveling to New York City to visit with my longtime friends and colleagues and to prepare for the upcoming release of my latest novel, The Wish. It was a whirlwind of activities — from pre-signing books to interviews and recording behind-the-scenes videos — and I couldn’t be more excited knowing that you’ll be seeing all of it soon, especially since parts of The Wish also take place in NYC.

With the release of each new book comes my favorite part of being an author: meeting with you in-person during the book tour. While the details for the tour’s virtual events are still in the works, I’m excited to be able to share these in-person tour stops with you now.

Monday, Sept 27 w/ Books & Greetings in Northvale, NJ (get tickets)
Tuesday, Sept 28 w/ Booktowne in Manasquan, NJ (get tickets)
Wednesday, Sept 29 w/ A Likely Story Bookstore in Baltimore, MD (get tickets)
Thursday, Sept 30 w/ FoxTale Book Shoppe in Woodstock, GA (get tickets)
Friday, Oct 1 w/ Vero Beach Book Center in Vero Beach, FL (get tickets)
Saturday, Oct 2 w/ Barnes & Noble, The Arboretum in Charlotte, NC (get tickets)
Sunday, Oct 3 w/ Books-A-Million in New Bern, NC (get tickets)

Similar to last year’s book tour for The Return, special arrangements have been made to ensure everyone’s safety.* I sincerely hope to be able to see you on the road, but if you don’t feel comfortable attending an in-person event, please reach out directly to one of our bookseller event partners so that they can help you preorder a signed copy and make arrangements for pick up or shipping.

As I hear from readers who have preordered The Wish, and anticipation builds for its September 28th release date, I can’t say enough about how excited I am for you to read it. I also want to mention that a handful of lucky readers have won advance copies of The Wish through Goodreads Giveaways and more winners will be randomly selected this Sunday.

One last thing to note is that my recently reissued memoir, Three Weeks With My Brother, is currently featured as a Target Summer Reading selection. I’m humbled to have it included alongside so many other great summer reads and by the overwhelmingly positive comments sent from readers that have enjoyed the book over the years.

You’ll hear from me again next month with more book news and, in the meantime, I wish you a happy and healthy end of summer.

Sincerely yours,

Nicholas Sparks

News for The Wish and My Newly Reissued Memoir

I hope this letter finds you well and with some time to rest and recharge. Should you find yourself with some extra time to read, I'm excited to let you know that all ebook editions of my bestselling novel, The Return, have been updated to include the first chapter of my upcoming novel, The Wish, which will be in stores this fall on September 28th. For today only, the Kindle edition of The Return is being offered at the special price of $2.99 and, on August 8th, the trade paperback edition of the novel will be available in stores nationwide.

If you're in the mood for something a little different, on June 1st, my memoir, Three Weeks with My Brother, is being reissued for the first time since its release almost 15 years ago. The book candidly chronicles a period of time, back in 2003, when my brother, Micah, and I set off on a three-week trip around the globe to mark a milestone in our lives as we had just recently become the only surviving members of our family. If you have a chance to read (or re-read) it, let me know what you think by sending me a message on FacebookTwitter or Instagram.

Traveling is on my mind more than ever now as plans are being finalized for this fall's release of my new novel, The Wish. Dates and cities are being finalized for my book tour and I can't wait to get back out and see all my readers and fans on the road again. The book is available for preorder now and, if you're a member of Goodreads, be sure to keep an eye out for giveaways with chances to win advance copies of The Wish starting the second week of June. Next time you hear from me, I’ll be able to share some exclusive previews and special content from the novel with you as well as info about more giveaways and deals from my publisher.

Last but not least, I wish you the best this Memorial Day weekend as many of us take a moment to honor the men and women we've lost during their service in the U.S. military. To quote from my memoir, Three Weeks with My Brother, may you "remember to embrace life with all its uncertainties. . . and most of all, to cherish the joyful times, both small and momentous, and the wonderful people who make them possible.

Sincerely yours,

Nicholas Sparks

Well wishes and a new book announcement for The Wish

I’m thrilled to be able to share the good news that my next novel, The Wish, is officially set to be released this fall on September 28!

Despite its many challenges, the past year presented me with the opportunity of extra time at home, which, in turn, allowed me extra time to write. Many years ago, I wrote about discovering my love for travel in my memoir, Three Weeks With My Brother. Since then, I have taken many trips with friends and family all over the world. It’s one of the things I missed most during this time of worldwide shutdown. Fueled by that inspiration, I began to craft a story that wove together my love of small towns, the allure of big cities, and the irresistible pull that I’ve long felt towards international travel and all the new experiences that come with it. Photos from past trips shown below are just a few of the many that I kept beside me while I wrote The Wish.

Of course, at the heart of the novel is a love story about two characters, Maggie Dawes and Bryce Trickett, who meet as teenagers in Ocracoke, a remote village on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. As decades pass and settings change, we see how love can often set us on a course that we never could have imagined.

I can’t wait for you to read The Wish this fall and, in the coming months, I look forward to being able to share exclusive previews and special content from the novel with you. There are also some great summer and fall reader giveaways being planned by my publisher, and I hope that by the fall, I’ll be able to join you on the road again.

Until then, I invite you to check out the official page for The Wish that includes the full story description and online pre-order links.

Sincerely yours,

Nicholas Sparks

P.S. If you’ve had a chance to read my most recent novel, The Return, let me know what you think by sending me a message on FacebookTwitter or Instagram. Being able to continue to connect with readers and fans is always a bright spot in my day.
