I hope you enjoy the book and the music!

My 20th book Two by Two is now on sale, and I can’t wait for you to meet Russell, London, Marge, and the rest of the characters. I’m also looking forward to introducing you to the amazing singer/songwriter JD Eicher who wrote the original song "Two by Two," inspired by the novel. He will be doing live performances of the Two by Two book soundtrackat FOUR events on my upcoming book tour starting at Barnes & Noble Union Square on October 4th. I invite you to check out our recent video interview, where JD and I talk about the difference in writing songs instead of writing books, our inspiration for writing each, and how we both feel we should stick to our respective careers. Thanks so much for supporting me all these years and I hope you enjoy the book and the music.

P.S. I also wanted to let you know about two special editions of Two by Two that are available. The Barnes and Noble special edition features exclusive personal reflections on each book from my entire 20 year career, and Target has a special edition with a color poster featuring the original covers of all my novels.

Presenting a sneak peek for the Two by Two song!

Last week, I shared the cities and dates for my upcoming book tour with you, and I hope many of you are planning to join me on the road. Today, I am excited to present an exclusive never before seen or heard video preview of the brand new song "Two by Two" written by the talented singer/songwriter, JD Eicher.

This wonderful song is an original exclusive track within a special collection of JD's remastered songs that make up the Two by Two book soundtrack. The entire collection of four songs will be sent to you for FREE on the book's release day, October 4, by signing up at TwobyTwoMusic.com.

Two By Two is my twentieth book, and I wanted to do something really special to celebrate its release. In the book, Russell and his daughter, London, read their own book, Two By Two, almost every night, and I thought that JD could really capture that special relationship between a father and a daughter, especially given that he and his wife are expecting their first daughter in a few months. Because I already loved JD’s music, I reached out to him to see if he would write an original song inspired by the book. Fortunately, he said yes! He also agreed to give away three other of my favorite songs of his. The resulting music collection is the perfect companion to the book, and I hope it amplifies the emotion and connection to the story for all of you. Again, when you visit the soundtrack site, you can sign up to receive a download link for the soundtrack as soon as it becomes available, as well as learn more about our collaboration. I hope you love it!

Announcing Two by Two tour dates and cities!

The release of my next book, Two by Two, is six weeks away and with that means that I get to visit with many of you during my book tour. I’m excited to share a first look at the US tour dates and locations that have just been finalized. While I travel from coast to coast, I hope I get to meet you somewhere along the way. Visit my events page for the full list of book tour details. Please note that some of the events are ticketed due to limited space and they may sell out, so I encourage you to get tickets early.

This year, I’m planning something extra special: I’ll be kicking off the tour on October 4 in New York City with recording artist JD Eicher, who will be performing an acoustic version of the soon to be released Two by Two book soundtrack. JD and I have collaborated to create a special collection of songs including his original track, “Two by Two,” which was inspired by the book. JD will be joining me on a few more of the tour stops as well. For more about our collaboration, visit twobytwomusic.com. More information about this soundtrack will be revealed in the coming weeks. I’ll also be posting quotes and images that give you a sneak peek into the more prominent themes of Two by Two including family, friendship, love and loyalty.

Best wishes for a happy weekend (and Labor Day, for those of you in the States), and I hope to get the chance to see you this fall,

P.S. Calling all ebook readers! This Sunday, August 28, The Wedding, Nights in Rodanthe, The Choice and The Lucky One will all be included in an Amazon Gold Box Deal and The Wedding will be a Romance Daily Find at Barnes & Noble.

Summer Greetings from NC!

The year was 1996. Ebay had just launched, Prince Charles and Diana split up and everyone was either dancing the Macarena or shouting Cuba Gooding’s famous line from Jerry Maquire—show me the money! As for me? I was releasing my first novel.

It’s the 20th anniversary of The Notebook! Here is what the original cover looked like long before Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling stepped into the roles of Allie and Noah, creating the cover we now see today. I love looking back at this and reflecting on how this book has changed the lives of so many, especially my own. I hope it had an impact on you as a reader, too.

See Me is available today in paperback, and if you pick up your copy at Walmart or Sam’s Club, you receive a complimentary audio book! For the first time ever, simply purchase the novel, then go to Downpour.com and choose The Longest Ride, See Me, Nights in Rodanthe or Dear John and it’s yours for free!

We are also saluting the paperback release of See Me with an exclusive edition, available only at Target stores. This special edition features color photos of scenes that inspired the book with notes from me. This was a challenging novel for me to write and I’m so proud of how it turned out. Thank you so much for your continued support and I hope you enjoy reading some of my thoughts on the inspiration for See Me.

Finally, I am thrilled to announce the kick off of the inaugural “Author Recommends” program at Walmart. As the first author to be featured, I’m recommending six of my personal picks with some of my favorite characters and authors. When you stop into a Walmart store in August, look for my picture in the book section to see what novels I am recommending and why I couldn’t put them down (or you can check them out now at Walmart.com/NicholasSparks).

Thank you, again, for your continued support. I look forward to sharing news about my upcoming novel, Two by Two, with you shortly … stay tuned!

Sincerely yours,
