#1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks returns with an emotionally powerful story of unconditional love, its challenges, its risks and most of all, its rewards.

At 32, Russell Green has it all: a stunning wife, a lovable six year-old daughter, a successful career as an advertising executive and an expansive home in Charlotte. He is living the dream, and his marriage to the bewitching Vivian is the center of that.  But underneath the shiny surface of this perfect existence, fault lines are beginning to appear...and no one is more surprised than Russ when he finds every aspect of the life he took for granted turned upside down. In a matter of months, Russ finds himself without a job or wife, caring for his young daughter while struggling to adapt to a new and baffling reality. Throwing himself into the wilderness of single parenting, Russ embarks on a journey at once terrifying and rewarding—one that will test his abilities and his emotional resources beyond anything he ever imagined.

Two by Two by Nicholas Sparks

    Inspiration for Two By Two

As a father of three boys and twin girls, I couldn’t be more aware of the unique relationships parents have with each of their children. In Two By Two, I chose to delve into the bond between a father and daughter, exploring the challenges, the risks and of course the rewards.

This is a powerful story of unconditional love, not only between these two characters but also with the family members that surround them. Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, but it’s how you take each step forward, how you mend or break bonds, that can define your future. This novel allowed me to examine the emotional reserves we all have as families and how we can strengthen those in time.

    Charlotte, NC

In the southern foothills lies the largest city in North Carolina, Charlotte. Against the modern skyline is a chic urban arts scene that mixes with turn-of-the-century architecture and traditional thoroughfares. Originally called Charlottetowne, the city was named in honor of the wife of King George II, Charlotte of Mecklenburg. Today, boutiques and cafes adorn tree-lined streets where vintage factory buildings and grand Southern estates mingle with top museums, savory food trucks and the NASCAR Hall of Fame—making this the perfect spot for couples to stroll and families to spend time together.
