The Hickory Public Library and Lenoir-Rhyne University Visiting Writers Series are hosting Nick's visit to Hickory, North Carolina, which also includes a public program at 7:00 p.m. at the P.E. Monroe Auditorium at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Both events are free, open to the public, and no tickets are required! Extras Wanted for Safe Haven

Southport, NC

Want a chance to be in the next Nicholas Sparks film? Safe Haven Movie is looking for extras for a scene they're filming tomorrow in Southport, North Carolina.

On Wednesday August 8th “Safe Haven” will be filming a Fourth of July scene in downtown Southport and we need a large quantity of people to fill the streets and watch our parade. The parade will feature floats and participants from local organizations that participated in Southport’s actual Fourth of July parade. This is non-paid volunteer participation where you will have a chance to win prizes in our raffle, catch glimpses of some of your favorite actors, and be a part of a feature film. All ages are welcome, and families are encouraged!
