Fireside Favorites

Celebrate the season by curling up on the couch with a great book or two. These novels feature some of my favorite characters and authors—enjoy!

A SONG OF SHADOWS by John Connolly
I’ve been a fan of the Charlie Parker thrillers since the beginning; John Connolly works in a genre of one. They can be very dark and explore the sometimes blurry edges of right and wrong, but I’m a fan.

BAZAAR OF BAD DREAMS by Stephen King
Yet another wonderful collection of short stories, some with twists and turns you simply don’t see coming. Plus, it features autobiographical comments on when, why and how he came to write (or rewrite) each story.

CLOSE TO SHORE by Michael Capuzzo
The true story of the New Jersey shark attacks by a rogue Great White that triggered mass hysteria and launched the most extensive shark hunt in history—these events eventually inspired the movie JAWS.

DEAR LIFE by Alice Munroe
This new collection pinpoints the moment a person is forever altered by a chance encounter, an action not taken or a simple twist of fate. These are terrific stories by an amazing talent, a writer so good I learn something new with every story.
